Bad breath, the breath we never want to experience. It is a awkward feeling that can even cause a social isolation. But the good news is, there are several home remedies of bad breath, that are actually works wonder. There are several home remedies that one can easily follow, lets have a look.

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil has anti inflammatory and anti microbial properties. So oil pulling with this oil makes your mouth infection free. This is one of the very useful home remedies of bad breath.

Take a tablespoon of coconut oil. Now put this oil in your mouth and swish it for approximately 10 minutes. Spit it out. Be cautious not to swallow it. Now, rinse your mouth with lukewarm water. Try to do this every morning before brushing the tooth. You will feel the magic within a few days.

Eucalyptus Oil

Eucalyptus oil is another effective home remedy for bad breath. It has anti inflammatory and antibacterial properties. It is not only one of the effective home remedies for bad breath, it also reduces gum pain and swelling. It’s analgesic property is helpful to relieve pain.

Take two to three drops of eucalyptus oil. Now add this in a cup of drinking water. Next gargle with this newly mixed solution. After gargling, rinse your mouth with plain water. Try to do this everyday, preferably in the morning. You will feel the results within a few days.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Yes, apple cider vinegar is a very simple home remedy for bad breath. So it is an effective way to get relief from bad breath. 

Take one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar. Now mix this in a glass of water. Next do the gargle with this solution. After gargling, rinse your mouth thoroughly with plain water. This needs to be done once daily and you will get the results within a few days of use.

Cloves

Clove is also effective to relieve bad breath. Take two pieces of cloves. Now, put it inside your mouth and chew it slowly. If possible, you can make clove tea and taking this will also be beneficial for you. Remember don’t use clove oil, or powdered cloves. They are strong enough, so can cause burn.

Fennel Seeds

Fennel seeds is a popular home remedy for bad breath relief. It is also known as breath sweetener. They contain aromatic essential oil, so fresh scent we feel after eating it.

Take one tablespoon of fennel seeds. Now, put this in your mouth. Next chew it thoroughly. Instantly You will feel the refreshing breath.

Ginger

Ginger is a popular home remedy for various health issues. It is helpful to give relief from bad breath.

Extract juice from freshly cut Ginger. Take a teaspoon of fresh ginger juice. Now add it to a glass of warm water. Next use this solution to rinse your mouth thoroughly after taking any meal. When the foul smell is under control, then you can do it once in every couple of days.

Cinnamon

Take one spoonful of cinnamon, a bay leaf, and some cardamom seeds. Then mix all these to hot water and then wait for few minutes. Now strain the mixture and take what is left as mouthwash.

Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil is another effective way to treat bad breath. It contains high amount of antioxidants. So helpful in bad breath relief.

Take one to two drops of tea tree oil. Now add this in a glass of water. Next, gargle with this newly mixed solution for approximately five minutes. You need to do this three to four times a day to get the best results.

Green Plants

Fresh sprig of basil, mint, or parsley is also effective to get relief from bad breath. 

Just chew fresh parsley leaves after meal, that is eat it.  They are helpful to neutralize your bad odour of mouth.

You can place the mint leave under your tongue for a few minutes. Now take them out. It also helps.

Sunflower Seeds

It is also an effective home remedy for bad breath.

Take a teaspoon of sunflower seeds. Now eat this sunflower seeds and then drink a glass of water.

Green Tea

Green tea is also a home remedy for bad breath. It contains phytochemicals that is antibacterial, so helps to get rid of bad breath.

Take one cup of hot water. Now put the green tea bag in it. Let it be there for a couple of minutes and then remove it. Now, drink this green tea. Three cups of green tea in a day is sufficient to get the results. You can add honey additionally.

Baking Soda

Baking soda is alkaline in nature. So it alters the acidic environment in the mouth. As a result, the condition becomes unfavorable for bacteria. So growth of bacteria is hampered in the mouth and one get relief from bad breath.

Take a pinch of baking soda and add it to your toothpaste. Now brush with it thoroughly. Once daily application is sufficient.

You may also take two teaspoon of baking soda and mix it in a cup of warm water. Now gargle with this mixture for about 30 seconds. Then spit it out. You can also add few drops of peppermint oil or any essential oil to it. It will enhance the freshening of breath.

Milk

Milk can remove bad breath, especially after taking strong smelling spices like garlic, onion. Drink a glass of low fat milk after taking these strong smell foods. It improves the breath, especially the garlicky breath

Toothbrush Replacement: Replacing your toothbrush every 2-3 months is important.

Cleaning of denture: If using a denture, clean the denture daily before wearing.

Brush and floss: Brushing twice daily and flossing once daily is utmost important. It will help to maintain oral hygiene. If teeth hurt after flossing that is possible to cure, but this can not be an excuse of not doing flossing. With regular teeth flossing and teeth brushing, chances to get bad breath due to oral reasons will be less.

Right choice of food: Some foods like onion, garlic, etc. have strong smell. So after taking this food, thoroughly brushing is important to get rid of the smell.

Stay and keep yourself well hydrated: If you are taking less water and your mouth doesn’t have sufficient moisture to produce saliva, then bad breath causing bacteria will start growing. Saliva has flushing actions, so it removes the bacteria from mouth. When there is scanty saliva, this flushing action is hampered. As a result,bad breath occurs.
